20-Foot Steel Rebar

Grade 40 (1/2" x 20' ) - #4

Made from a sturdy composite of carbon steel. This common, high-grade rebar has widespread applications in the residential and light commercial construction industries. In particular, #4 reinforcement steel is used to pave roads and highways, and in certain climates, it can also be used to build swimming pool frames. It is often trusted as a strengthening material in slabs, piers, columns and walls. This 1/2 inch rebar grade is known as "13MM in the metric system.

  • Weight per unit length: 0.668 pounds per foot (0.996 kilograms per meter)
  • Nominal diameter: 0.5 inches (12.7 millimeters)
  • Nominal area: 0.2 square inches (129 square millimeters)

Rebar Grade 60 (3/8" x 20' ) - #3

Made from carbon-steel composite, #3 reinforcing bar or "rebar" is primarily used in swimming pool frames, road and highway paving, and patio and driveway construction. It also has important applications in the vineyard industry, as it is ideal for training rootstocks to grow as designated by its trellising system. The expansion coefficient of the carbon-steel composite compares favorably with the characteristics of industrial-grade concrete. In metric measures, #3 rebar is known as "10MM."

  • Weight per unit length: 0.376 pounds per foot (0.561 kilograms per meter)
  • Nominal diameter: 0.375 inches (9.525 millimeters)
  • Nominal area: 0.11 square inches (71 square millimeters)

Rebar Grade 60 (5/8" x 20' ) - #5

The primary applications of #5 rebar include pre-cast masonry for use in highway and bridge construction, as well as foundation grade beams, footings and tilt-up walls. #5 reinforcement steel also has widespread uses in the light commercial and residential construction industries, including patio decks, retaining walls and caissons. In metric circles, this 5/8 inch rebar grade is known as "16MM."

  • Weight per unit length: 1.043 pounds per foot (1.556 kilograms per meter)
  • Nominal diameter: 0.625 inches (15.875 millimeters)
  • Nominal area: 0.31 square inches (200 square millimeters)

Rebar Grade 60 (3/4" x 20' ) - #6

#6 rebar is often used in concrete reinforcement applications. Specifically, this reinforcement bar is found in foundation construction and repair, in retaining walls and tilt-up walls. It is also used as a strengthening compound in caissons, pre-cast masonry products and deck-grade beams. Finally, #6 rebar is occasionally used in the road and highway construction industry in the creation and maintenance of new and existing roadways. "19MM" is the metric equivalent of #6 rebar.

  • Weight per unit length: 1.502 pounds per foot (2.24 kilograms per meter)
  • Nominal diameter: 0.75 inches (19.05 millimeters)
  • Nominal area: 0.44 square inches (284 square millimeters)

Rebar Grade 60 (7/8" x 20' ) - #7

Concrete reinforcement products provide vital structural support, enhancing safety and overall performance and durability. #7 rebar is a carbon-steel composite recommended for medium- to heavy-duty commercial construction applications. Because of its strength, #7 reinforcement bar is frequently used to reinforce multi-level parking structures, as well as bridges over roads and waterways. It can also be used for general purpose construction, including retaining walls, grade beams, caissons and pre-cast masonry products. Its metric equivalent is "22MM."

  • Weight per unit length: 2.044 pounds per foot (3.049 kilograms per meter)
  • Nominal diameter: 0.875 inches (22.225 millimeters)
  • Nominal area: 0.6 square inches (387 square millimeters)

Rebar Grade 60 (1" x 20') - #8

Composed of a sturdy carbon steel composite, #8 rebar is a high-grade reinforcement product trusted for medium or heavy commercial applications. #8 reinforcement steel is known as "25MM" in the metric system.

Project uses for this large-diameter rebar include:

  • Footings
  • Piers
  • Columns and beams
  • Caissons
  • Shear walls
  • High-rise transfer slabs
  • Bridge abutments
  • Sea walls
  • Retaining walls
